About Me

My approach

Hello, I am Foram Zaveri, psychologist and REBT therapist based in Mumbai, India with over 9 years of experience in working with adults, teenagers and couples. My aim is to make therapy sessions interactive, collaborative, and above all a welcoming, safe space where no thought is too small, and no feeling is too insignificant. I utilize evidence based approaches, such as Mindfulness based therapy and am certified in Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, while always integrating a very person-centered framework. My goal in working with my clients is to foster a sense of autonomy, growth, self-awareness, acceptance, and healing.

Ah, the origins of my journey into therapy, you ask? Well, imagine a dusty old library filled with encyclopedias and mysteries, each one more intricate and puzzling than the last. As a very curious child, I was drawn to the enigmatic world of human emotions and behaviors, much like I was drawn to those cryptic tales, the “Tell me why” series were a summer favourite. 

My fondness of questioning human motivation led to me studying psychology and it was my very first client as a psychologist that sealed my fate. It sounds cliche, but something clicked and let me know that being a therapist is who I was becoming all along.

There is something transformative about having someone see and hear you, about saying things aloud. The act of sharing, of giving voice to your experiences and emotions, is incredibly healing. It’s akin to solving a literary puzzle; as we piece together the fragments of your story, patterns emerge, motivations become clearer, and resolutions start to take shape. 

So, my journey from reading mysteries to becoming a therapist was, in essence, a transition from a passive observer of captivating narratives to an active participant in the intricate and meaningful stories of people’s lives.

My Experience

With a background in Master’s in Clinical Psychology and training in REBT, I’ve spent years honing my skills and crafting an approach that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs. My prior work includes experience in community based settings working as a crisis intervention psychologist with adults and youth undergoing rehabilitation and in patient treatment along with being a psychologist and therapist for individuals and couples living with mental disorders. I have also worked in child welfare offering individual therapy, exploring the impact of abuse and exploring emotional expression among children and teenagers. After which, I worked for the next few years as a Corporate Psychologist, offering individual and group therapy services, along with managing multiple Wellness projects and curating guidelines and protocols for Employee Assistance Programs on a global scale for an MNC.

With her skill set as a couples’ therapist, Foram has helped countless couples and individuals build strong, healthy relationships. Her compassionate and non-judgmental approach creates a safe space for her clients to explore their deepest fears and vulnerabilities, while providing them with the tools they need to foster intimacy and connection.
